New Oklahoma Trail Riding Regulations
for Oklahoma State Parks & Wildlife Refuge Areas
Effective January 1, 2011, the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation
Commission established a special use permit that will be required of
persons using Wildlife Department-owned lands who do not hold a valid
hunting or fishing license. The permit has been designated the
conservation passport and will be available in the form of a license that
will be sold online at www.wildlifedepartment.com or anywhere hunting
and fishing licenses are sold.
Hiking, horseback riding, nature trails, biking, wildlife watching and other
activities on wildlife department property. The price for the conservation
passport is set at $26, which is $1 more than a hunting or fishing license.
Anyone holding a current fishing or hunting license does not need the
passport. Fines can run as high as $250. If you have questions, contact
the Wildlife Department in OKC at 405/521-3721.
